An apple a day keeps the doctor away" This old adage may be truer than you think. Recent studies have suggested that the consumption of apples can help control weight gain, lower the risk of heart disease and fight cancer. Though most people think the flesh of the apple is the most delicious part, the skin is definitely the most nutritious. The apple skin contains 4 milligrams of quercetin, an anti-oxident compound preventing oxygen molecules from damaging individual cells. This can prevent cell changes that can lead to cancer. A Finnish study concluded that men who had the highest intake of quercetin lowered their risk of heart disease by 20%. This compound has also been shown to inhibit the growth of tumors and keep cancer cells from spreading. The insoluble fiber found in apples is responsible for a host of other benefits. The apple skin is considered roughage and is a great remedy for constipation. Insoluble fiber also helps the digestive tract run smoothly, helping to prevent diverticulosis, a condition which can lead to colon cancer. Another benefit of insoluble fiber is its "filling" effect, this being an effective appetite suppressant. Read more on http://www.essortment.com/all/applesnutritio_raht.htm

This dessert recipe is really prodigious! Very pleasing to eat and at the same time relaxed to organize. I should share this recipe to my friends! Thank for this!

It’s funny to think why a chef would make something like this. He didn’t think of what this recipe would taste like. I think he just imagined it and wrote it down without even tasting it. What a weird combination of food. Seriously it is bad for me and to think that I only imagined what the outcome would taste like. I didn’t dare to make this recipe because I think I might waste money and time if I make one.

Where’s the video? I really need the video right now. I am not a culinary student or anything, I do not have knowledge on cooking or baking so I desperately need the video right now.

Hmmm. This looks and sounds delicious! It is good for its side was garnish with sweets and the middle has a creamy and softy taste that makes it spectacular to eat.

I think it’s better if it had a video. I had difficulties making this recipe, I followed the instructions but sadly to say it was an epic fail making it. If will rate this recipe it will be very poor. Sorry but, I was disappointed.

I don't like the combination of the bitterness of orange and the sweetness of vanilla ice cream....I can't explain it! Too bitter and too sweet! This is no good!

The combination for this recipe is not proper; it’s so sweet, not recommended for health conscious people especially those who are in diabetic condition.

as much as i love vanilla ice cream and apples, the infusion with the orange sauce didn't really meet my expectations. maybe a fruit sherbet would have worked better.

I find this recipe complicated at first. But it gets simpler while I actually do it. My husband and myself did this recipe together, now he gets more interested in cooking. This recipe is a must try. The orange peel did well. I will do this technique in the other recipes that may require this.

This is so different kind of dessert recipe that you've shared. I wanted to try this recipe. The preparation of the recipe is so easy and very easy to follow. Good to serve for kids too.

A recipe worth cooking! The way that the chef did it was perfect and it is easier than what I expected when I tried it. The orange liquor gave off a bitter-sweet taste and the granulated sugar as a finish touch is really remarkable. And the softness and smoothness of the cake, the consistency and moisture is just incredibly stable. And putting a vanilla ice cream on top is a wrap up for any dish!

You can't really compare apples and oranges in this recipe. The orange sauce just blends perfectly with the apple beignets. Plus, the vanilla ice cream topping greatly compliments the two.

The bitterness of the sauce was made up by the sweet vanilla ice cream finish. This is not just worth trying for its fancy name but also worth cooking for it is really fantastic! The only downside is that it takes at least an hour to do this but after the job was done; all the hardship is worth it! And if you notice why the steps doesn’t require you to peel off the apples is because they are more nutritious than the flesh. Worth recommending to all my friends out there!
