Ingredients
1 head of romaine hearts ½ cup finely grated reggiano parmasean cheese 2 slices double smoked bacon 2 cups of balsamic vinegar 1 tbs honey
Preparation Instructions
Trim and wash romaine lettuce leaves. Pat dry with paper towel. On a baking sheet lay out your Parmesan cheese, lengthwise, about 8 inches by 1 inch. Place cheese in 350 degree F oven, for 6 to 7 minutes, until melted and slightly browning. Remove from oven, let cool for 30 seconds. Using tongs or a palette knife remove the strip of cheese from the baking tray and roll around a mug or glass, being sure to put the seam underneath the weight of the glass, while it rests, making sure it adheres, and let cool. On the same baking tray, lay out your two pieces of double smoked bacon flat. Place another baking tray of equal size on top, and bake in the oven for approximately 10 minutes at 350 degrees F. Remove from the oven and take the top tray off. Lay bacon out on paper towel and pat dry excess grease. Bacon should be dark, fully cooked and after one minute out of the oven should be crispy.

Caesar Salad With Parmesean Twill

Caesar salads traditionally consist of romaine lettuce, croutons, and a dressing of shredded parmesan cheese, lemon juice, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, fresh or coddled egg, and black pepper. Chef Timothy Barton’s version of this classic dish, however, simplifies the salad. Although the dish looks like something from a fine restaurant, it isn’t difficult to prepare and harkens back to Caesar Cardini’s original 1924 creation while still offering up something new and exciting.

To reduce the balsamic vinegar to create the glaze for this dish, simply pour a bottle of the vinegar in a saucepan, bring it to a simmer, and let the amount of liquid in the pan reduce by half. This process intensifies the flavor of the vinegar.

What is with the loud repetitious music?!
Trying to hear what he is saying about a recipe~why play anything but his voice?!

This was so easy, and really good. I wanted more thickness to the dressing. Still looking for the ultimate Caesar dressing tho...I'll be making this again soon.

My entire family said this was the best ceasar salad they have ever eaten. This was better than any salad I could get at a nice restaurant. Could the admin fix also the layout on recipe instruction, its in one paragraph but its much better if its on a bullet format.

I found the combination of bacon, cheese, vinegar and lettuce very appealing. I don't go for so much flavor as to the simple taste and aroma I've experienced with this salad. I must say that this is a splendid recipe. I highly recommend it.

One of the boring salad I've ever made. No appeal, lack of seasoning and its taste...Not attractive at all!

My sister told my mother about this. And then when my mother did this, it was really great! It tastes good and really delicious. I to try this also and I will share it to my friends.

I love eating salad and I made this recipe with no changes but it tasted quiet bland. I think it’s because of the ingredients in here, they don’t match with others, and I like more the old version of Caesar Salad!

My sister and I did this together. Making parmesan twill is a lot of fun. After making this recipe, we did a lot more parmesan twill. With different sizes of glass, some we did with different shapes. Parmesan twill plus romaine has a unique taste for me. But parmesan twill alone makes my day :)

I am amazed while he was doing the parmesan twill it is so perfectly well done. Making this parmesan twill takes me a lot of trials for I always break when twisting it. Anyhow, Putting the smoke bacon and veggies inside the parmesan twill was a good idea for it creates a nice food presentation.

The parmesan twill was baked perfectly, with the greens and bacon incorporated with it makes the perfect conclusion! I tried my flair in this and it is a little complicated especially on making the twill. A little misjudged move will make you redo the steps. But after so many twist and turns and tries, I did it and was worth it. Every health conscious people and cheese aficionados will surely love this recipe!
