One of the many features you will find on GourmetRecipe.com is the “Cuisines” tab. Click on it and you will find a variety of recipes from different parts of the world, such as Mexico, India, Greece and France. Each features exciting and delicious recipes from that country or region.

Gourmet Mexican Recipes

Black beans are used in many Mexican dishes. Mixed with onions, garlic, jalapeno, and tomatoes, these Mexican Black Beans become a tasty dish. Be sure to use dried beans, instead of canned beans, though, for extra flavor. Posole is a Mexican soup that is made with pork, hominy and tomatoes. This recipe is for Basic Posole. The seasoning can be changed to suit, and other ingredients, such as onion, or radishes, can be added to change the flavor. Guacamole is a favorite Mexican dip that is used for chips and vegetables, or as toppings for salads and steaks. 10-Minute Guacamole is, as the name implies, quick and easy to make, and it is also delicious to eat.

Gourmet Indian Recipes

Indian foods are usually spicy, but the following recipes are for snacks and desserts that are more sweet and sugary than they are spicy. For instance, Chum-Chum, which is a Bengali treat, is made with only a one fourth of a teaspoon of cardamom powder with one cup of sugar. Motichoor Laddus can be found for purchase during special Indian festivals and they tend to be costly. You can make your own in less than an hour with milk, pistachios, ghee, raisins, baking powder, sugar, flour, water and food coloring. Ledikeni are cottage cheese balls that are deep-fried, but they are served with a sugary syrup that is very sweet.

Gourmet Greek Recipes

Like many cultures, the Greeks love their food. They use plenty of seasonings, but their food isn’t very hot. It also tends to be healthy with the use of lots of vegetables, fruits and olive oil. These Grecian Baked Lima Beans are a great example. They are combined with olive oil, onions, carrots, tomatoes, salt, pepper, parsley and oregano. It is a simple dish, but it’s hearty and healthy. Chicken and Spinach Pie is prepared with a cornmeal crust, filled with chicken, spinach, ham, eggs, raisins, pine nuts and cream that is seasoned with salt and garlic. Hummus is generally considered to be healthy, but this Lower-Fat Hummus is even healthier when yogurt is substituted for olive oil in the recipe. Pilaf rice is a traditional dish throughout Greece, with each region having its own version of it. This one uses only three ingredients and is slow-cooked at a very low temperature to give it a golden-brown crust.

Gourmet French Recipes

The French love to cook. Their dishes tend to look and sound very elegant and seem difficult to prepare, but many of them are rather easy. Case in point: Brouillade with Eggs, Telline and Truffles. These are clams served a sauce, or brouillade, made with truffles and eggs. The clams are boiled and then added to the sauce. Tokay d'Alsace is the recommended wine. Apples from the Normandy Region is a pastry dish made with both green and red apples, brandy, butter, honey and cinnamon. It looks very elegant, but takes only 30 minutes to prepare and cook. Alsatian Vegetable Soup, from the Alsace region of France (hence the name), is made with butter, onion, shallots, celery, mushrooms, potato, turnips, and either chicken or beef stock, all seasoned with lemon juice, salt and pepper, and garnished with either fresh parsley and chives.
